Patrick Bernard

Patrick Bernard

Patrick Bernard is a Canadian musician, songwriter, composer and producer since many years. He creates new forms of music, and his unique and profound music style is very appreciated internationally and he is one of the pioneers of well-being music. Patrick Bernard is inspired of Bhakti Yoga, and has practiced this since he met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He was given the Maha-Mantra by Srila Prabhupada and later also the Gayatri-Mantra by Srila Sridhar Maharaja, and this has influenced and inspired him in producing devotional music. He has a soft and soothing voice that lifts the Sanskrit mantras in his songs and the melodious chanting.

Patrick Bernard's music is highly recommended for Yoga practice, for meditation and massage therapy, and for health professionals like doctors, dentists, psychologists, osteopaths, naturopaths, etc. as well. His music helps to diminish stress and elevates thoughts, the spirit soothes and the body relaxes. It is considered to stimulate the cardio-vascular system, breathing becomes deeper and heart rhythm becomes stable.

A peaceful mind in a relaxed body is something we all desire, and it is also a good description of the effects of the inspiring and sweet music by Patrick Bernard.

Besides being musician, Patrick Bernard has also written two books; "Mantra Voyage, sound has a means for self-fulfilment", and "La protection devine" in French. For more information about the artist and his productions, go to the official home page of Patrick Bernard: www.patrickbernard.com.

Johannes Ptok

Johannes Ptok

Johannes Ptok, aka Janmanalaya, was born in Berlin in 1950, and in 1967 went to Pforzheim, Germany, to study arts and crafts. From 1968 to 1970, he was taught by Professor Sonderborg at the Art Academy in Stuttgart, and for the next tow years was a pupil of Professor Rudolf Hausner at the Academy in Vienna. It was there that Johannes Ptok developed his characteristic style, which leans toward symbolism and fantastic realism. Ptok also attended private classes held by Ernst Fuchs.

After his formal studies, he travelled extensively and lived in various countries, including Italy, the United States and India. Now he resides with his family in the beautiful Swedish countryside, on a farm near Stockholm. His paintings have gained notoriety and have been displayed at exhibits throughout Scandinavia. He does not only paint on canvas, but also on different nature material.

Johannes Ptok is presently illustrating the Bhagavad-Gita, an ancient Sanskrit classic. In this project, he is looking for experiences and images "that come only to those who search with both patience and passion, who love the absolute reality, Krishna". "When we open our searching eye, Ptok says, "we can see God's face glowing behind all things."

Conscious Message with Madonna
Madonna, American Life On 22th of April 2003, Madonna's album American Life was released, and with this music, a conscious message is spread around the world. This CD is a strong preaching against the illusion of the materialistic focus in this world. A few lines in the first song "American Life" is, in some sense, the essence of the voice in this album:

"Do you think I'm satisfied?
I'd like to express my extreme point of view
I'm not Christian and I'm not a Jew
I'm just living out the American dream
And I just realised that nothing is what it seems".

Go to Madonna's web site to read the lyrics or to download some songs from her new album.

Chant And Be Happy
Philipe Auliac Philippe Auliac, one of France's foremost film directors, has made a 70 minute full-length documentary film, called Chant And Be Happy. The film is narrated by Laurence Geslin, a documentary maker trained in visual arts and the history of art.

Auliac previously made the well-known film of George Harrison, "All things must pass". He has been a supporter of the Hare Krishna movement for a long time, and has a good relationship with devotees in France. Auliac began work on this great project of "Chant and Be Happy" at Harrison's request. Harrison wanted a major film to influence the mass of people throughout the world.

This film shows another side of devotional life -- one new to most people. Philippe Auliac wanted his film to show another image of the Krishna devotees; that they are ordinary people with jobs, children, houses, etc., but who have added Krishna to their everyday lives. The film closes on this thought: "Is it possible that Krishna devotees have a key to happiness?" The answer is yes; studying Krishna consciousness philosophy and, of course, putting it into practice, can indeed bring happiness. This engaging film will help viewers to become aware of the spiritual dimension of life.

The world premiere of this film will be in Montreal, Canada, on November 16.

The Meatrix
The MeatrixThe Meatrix uses lighthearted satire to get at a deathly serious issue -- factory farming. Playing off the plot of The Matrix, The Meatrix follows the story of an innocent young pig, Leo, who lives on a sustainable family farm... he thinks. Leo is approached by Moopheus, a wise and mysterious cow who offers to answer the question, "What is the Meatrix?" Leo takes the proverbial "Red Pill" offered by Moopheus, and wakes up to the ghastly reality of a factory farm. Though learning the truth is painful, Leo eventually accepts it, and joins Moopheus’s rag-tag band of barnyard rebels to free others from the horrors of The Meatrix.

The film may be fanciful, but the analogy holds true. When it comes to eating meat, modern America has constructed for itself a grand lie, a false reality -- a "matrix", so to speak -- that allows us to ignore the horrors of factory farming. The Meatrix confronts that lie with irreverent humor, well-researched facts and inspiring ways to support healthier, more humane farms.

Brother Bear
Brother BearThe animated Disney film "Brother Bear", from 2003, deserves to be mentioned on this site, due to the extraordinary conscious message in it.

The story takes place long time ago, in a world where still were glaciers and the nature was shining and fresh. The Inuit people believed that the mystical northern light over the landscape, was the great spirits of the ancestors who were there to help, protect and guide, and that also brought the changes of seasons in nature.

Here we meet the three Inuit brothers Kinai, Denahi, and Sitka, preparing for the ceremony where Kinai will receive his guardian spirit, whose name appears to be "The Bear of Love", the spirit who will help and guide him to become a man. Soon the three brothers are all involved in a serious fight with a bear, where Sitka, the older brother, sacrifices his life to save his little brother Kinai. This boy Kinai, wants revenge and goes to look for the bear to kill him, although the other brother tries to stop him.

After some time, he manages to kill the bear, but all in a sudden, Kinai is surrounded by the mystic lights of the Great Spirits, and soon he finds that he has transformed into a bear. From now he will see the world with completely new eyes - with the eyes of a bear. And from now the remaining brother, Denahi, will be hunting this bear, thinking that the bear had killed Kinai. Brother hunting brother. But Kinai will get new brothers among the other bears.

This is a nice family movie, a film with good music, beautiful pictures, funny characters; a story that gives some good laughs and that also moves the heart to tears, but it is much more than this. What makes this story different from many others of Disney's animation films, in my eyes, is the conscious message and spiritual awareness. Here we can clearly see that our acts in this life will have a reaction, sooner or later. We are responsible for our acts, whatever we do, and we must take the consequences of them. If we are wise, we listen to the wise, otherwise we will learn the hard way.

In a beautiful way we learn here, that also the animals are our sisters and brothers. We must respect them and love them as such. A being is not merely a body of flesh and blood, skin and bones. We are individuals carrying different bodies; some humans, some bears, some moose, but all of us are spirit souls. And when we decide to follow our true identity, and when we decide to choose the way of Love, we will finally grow and become a man, a true human being - we will reach our goal: self-realisation.

An Unconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient TruthThis movie, directed by Davis Guggenheim, is an attempt to awake the consciousness in all of us, about what is happening to Mother Earth. Most of us have heard about the global warming and the greenhouse effect, but how many do actually know what it means to the earth and its inhabitants, today and in the future.

The movie is a documentary, and the former vice president of USA, Al Gore, gives a lecture about the state of health of planet earth. Sounds boring, maybe, but it is not boring at all. With scientific reports, numbers and statistic curves, with pictures, cartoons and short stories from life, he relates what is going on. Sure, there is frightening information, but we also realize that the situation, despite of all, is not hopeless. And we are encouraged to act.

An Inconvenitent Truth is a movie which everybody should watch; not only in the cinemas by a small group of environment friends. It should be shown on television during peak viewing hours, in schools, churches and places of work. And important as any, our politicians around the world should watch and consider it.

"Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

Paramount Classics and Participant Productions present a film directed by Davis Guggenheim, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH. Featuring Al Gore, the film is produced by Laurie David, Lawrence Bender and Scott Z. Burns. Jeff Skoll and Davis Guggenheim are the executive producers and the co-producer is Leslie Chilcott."
