Rasikananda Das

Rasikananda Das (Jorge J. Del Soler) showed since young age a great interest in everything in relation to India. His enthusiasm and resolution brought him to travel alone to India, a country he travelled widely through, mixed with the people and learned its language and culture.

He studied tabla and vocal music under direction of the teacker Shyam Srivastava, from the Institute Sri Sathya Sai of Higher Studies, at Prashanti Nilayam, India. After Srivastava's pass away, on his travel to study in India, he gets instructions in tabla and pakhavaj from Pandit Mohan Shyam Sharma, a wise man in musical science and Sanskrit, who travelled widely around the world, giving concerts and classes at the principal universities. He took spiritual initiation in the holy city of Vrindavan, India, from His Holiness Srila B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami, and received the name Rasikananda Das.

He has performed in many opportunities in Argentina, India and Chile, a country where he lived for some time. He received the support from the Indian embassy in Santiago de Chile and from the Higher Institute of Vedic Studies in Argentina and Chile.

Rasikananda Das has been working with Ariel Chab-Tarab in the music of the movie "Unicornio", a co-production between India and Argentina by the producer Pablo Cesar. He also participated in the production and the music of "Chitra", a music theatre made by Rabindranath Tagore as a project for the 50 years independence of India. Furthermore he dedicates time to teaching, co-ordinating workshop and dictating music classes for his expanding group of students in Córdoba, Rosario and Buenos Aires.
